About the Project
Conducted an end-to-end product management lifecycle for Microsoft to address collaboration barriers in Microsoft Teams for professionals in their first three years of employment. Through qualitative user research and competitive benchmarking against platforms like Slack and Discord, the team identified notification overload as a critical workflow friction point. To solve this, the team designed and prototyped the Action Feed System, a structured notification management framework that prioritizes actionable information, suppresses low-value system alerts, and bundles repeated updates. Utilizing a parallel workstream methodology, the project successfully delivered a highly-validated, interactive prototype and a meticulously detailed Product Requirements Document (PRD) within three months. The proposed solution was evaluated to have financial viability by completing a Cost Benefit Analysis and Risk Assessment which both passed the necessary thresholds. The main financial benefits were driven by increased enterprise adoption and increased early career users.
